Best AI Webtoon and Manhwa Generators, Read on a Phone
Six AI webtoon and manhwa generators, ranked by what survives a phone screen: one column, a face that holds, bubbles you can read. Prices checked October 2026.
Published ·6 min read
A webtoon gets read one-handed on a phone, often in bed, on a screen about 390 pixels wide. So the best AI webtoon generator is the one whose output still works there: pages in one column, a lead whose face holds from the first panel to the last, and bubbles you can read without zooming.
By that measure FicPal comes first. From one line of premise it made a 24-page romance-fantasy chapter that stays on the same face all the way down. bestphoto.ai, our sister site, comes second for a smaller job: one manhwa-style portrait of your lead.
The phone test: one column, one face, readable bubbles
Webtoon pages stack top to bottom and you move through them with your thumb. A page drawn as a wide grid has to shrink to fit that column, and so does everything on it. If you're still deciding between a page and a scroll, start with our format guide.
The face is the hard part. An AI tool draws every panel fresh, so hair color, eye color and jewelry can wander, and over a chapter readers notice. Bubbles are the other thing a phone punishes: lettering drawn on a page about 1,000 pixels wide shows at roughly a third of that size on the screen.
Before you post anything, open it on your phone, compare the face in the last panel with the first, and read every bubble without pinching. For bubble shape and placement, see our speech bubble guide.
Chapter 1 of The Poisoned Vow, made on FicPal, shrinks to phone width, scrolls as one column of 24 pages, and Elara's face on the last page still matches the first.
The 6 best AI webtoon and manhwa generators
We made the first two ourselves from the same duchess premise. For the other four you get features and prices, and no verdict on art we didn't make. If you'd rather make single comic pages than a scroll, our roundup of AI comic generators sorts tools by what they hand you.
Number 1
FicPal
Our pick
ficpal.com
One premise in, a lettered vertical-scroll Chapter 1 out.
We typed one line: a duchess executed for poisoning the crown prince wakes on the morning of their engagement, and the prince she supposedly killed remembers it too. About ten minutes later The Poisoned Vow had a cover, a 12-chapter outline and a 24-page Chapter 1. Above, Elara on page 1 and on page 24: same silver-blonde hair, same gray eyes.
Her dress flips from pink back to green between pages 21 and 22, and the wordiest narration boxes come out close to fine print on a phone. The chapter also ends at a door, and the prince's side of the story waits in Chapter 2.
Best for
A whole chapter from one idea
Pricing
First comic free on signup credits, then 50 purchased credits per chapter
Pros
A cover, a cast and about two dozen pages from one premise
Pages stack in one column in a reader made for phones
Character reference images keep the lead's face steady
Twelve art styles to pick from, and balloons you can retype for free
Cons
Fixing a page means describing the change, or painting over the part to redo, and after your free fixes each one costs credits
Lettering is native in Latin-script languages; other scripts are written in English for now
Chapter 2 onward costs purchased credits
New comics are public until you set them to unlisted or private
One manhwa-style portrait of your lead from a photo, never panels or a story.
We gave its free Animefy tool an AI-made portrait of a fictional duchess (left) and asked for a Korean romance-fantasy manhwa look. About 15 seconds later it returned the portrait on the right. It kept her pose, updo and high collar, but turned her violet-gray eyes blue and her silver circlet into a gold tiara.
On a phone it fills one screen, so it works as a cover or character card, not something to scroll.

Which one fits your webtoon
If you want to read your story tonight and you're happy picking from a dozen ready-made looks (or letting the story choose), start with FicPal. Right now your first comic is free on the 80 signup credits, and each chapter after that costs 50 purchased credits, with packs from $5 for 500. Any signed-in reader can unlock the next chapter, and it then opens for everyone.
If you're drawing it yourself or hiring an artist, start from a bestphoto.ai portrait of your lead. To approve every panel of a short episode, use GenToon. To build pages around characters you set up, use LlamaGen or Comistitch. Whichever you pick, our episode guide covers how many panels each episode needs.
Questions people ask.
Is there an AI manhwa generator with no sign-up?
For a single image, yes: bestphoto.ai's Animefy tool gives two free, watermarked results a day without an account. Every tool here that makes panels or pages needs a sign-in. LlamaGen lets you press Generate, then asks you to sign up before it shows the result, and Gemini won't create images while you're signed out.
Will my characters look the same in later chapters?
On FicPal, every later chapter is drawn from the same character reference images made for Chapter 1, so the cast carries over. In GenToon, LlamaGen and Comistitch, you save a character or upload a reference image to do the same job.
Can I use these comics commercially?
Don't count on it on FicPal: you keep your premise and ideas, but its Terms only make the AI art available for use in the comics you create on FicPal and promise nothing about its legal status, and downloading pages from the editor doesn't change that. Comistitch includes a commercial license on its Elite plan, or on Starter and Pro billed yearly, and its free plan has none. For the others, read the terms of the plan you'd pay for.
