DMCA Policy

FicPal respects intellectual property rights. If your copyrighted work has been posted without your permission, here's how to request its removal.

Last updated: May 2, 2026

Our Commitment

FicPal complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and responds promptly to notices of alleged copyright infringement. If you believe that content hosted on FicPal infringes your copyright, please follow the procedure below.

To help us act quickly and accurately, please include all of the required information listed in the next section. Incomplete notices may delay our response.

How to File a Takedown Notice

Send your notice to our designated DMCA agent by email at hello@ficpal.com with the subject line “DMCA Takedown Notice.” Your notice must include:

  • Identification of the copyrighted work — describe the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed. If multiple works are involved, a representative list is acceptable (e.g. “all pages from [Series Title], chapters 1–20”).
  • Identification of the infringing material — the URL(s) or sufficient information to identify the specific comic(s), chapter(s), or image(s) on FicPal that you claim infringes your work.
  • Your contact information — your name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address so we can follow up with you.
  • Good-faith statement — a statement that you have a good-faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  • Accuracy statement — a statement that the information in the notification is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorised to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
  • Signature — a physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorised to act on their behalf.

What Happens Next

Upon receiving a valid DMCA notice we will:

  • Promptly remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing content.
  • Notify the user who uploaded the content that it has been removed.
  • Provide the uploader with a copy of the notice (with your personal contact information redacted if you request it).
  • Inform the uploader of their right to file a counter-notice.

Counter-Notice Procedure

If you believe your content was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may file a counter-notice. Your counter-notice must include:

  • Identification of the material removed and the URL(s) where it appeared before removal.
  • A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief that the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
  • Your name, address, telephone number, and email address.
  • A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for the judicial district in which your address is located, or if you are outside the United States, any judicial district in which FicPal may be found.
  • Your physical or electronic signature.

Send counter-notices to hello@ficpal.com with the subject line “DMCA Counter-Notice.” If we receive a valid counter-notice, we will forward it to the original complainant. Unless the complainant files an action seeking a court order within 10 business days, the content may be restored.

Repeat-Infringer Policy

FicPal maintains a repeat-infringer policy in accordance with the DMCA. Users who receive multiple valid DMCA notices — or who are found to have systematically uploaded infringing content — will have their accounts terminated.

We reserve the right to terminate accounts even before reaching any specific numerical threshold when the pattern of infringement is clear or when the infringing uploads appear coordinated.

Misrepresentation Warning

Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing, or that material was removed by mistake or misidentification, may be subject to liability for damages, including costs and attorneys' fees. Please only file a DMCA notice if you have a good-faith, lawful basis for believing infringement has occurred.
