One Year Per Mercy
by @mesmerpercy · made on FicPal
Royal bodyguard Seolhwa dies when the capital of Hwaseong falls. She wakes five years earlier, at the lantern festival where an assassination lit the war. She stops the killing and saves the target, only to recognize him as the man who will later open the city gates. Every change she makes to history burns one year from her remaining life. To save the city, she must guard the traitor she wants to kill—and decide which years of her own life are worth spending.
