The moon's chosen, an original story by Pauliebillions

The chamber is silent. Kelvin stands at the centre with his mother at his side and stares at the man stepping out of the shadows.
  1. Narration: The chamber became silent.
  2. Narration: A photograph his mother had kept hidden for years.
  3. Narration: His uncle. He had seen him only once before. In a photograph.
The uncle resembles Kelvin's father, but his smile is not his father's. He greets Kelvin, and his mother steps in front of her son.
  1. Kelvin's uncle: Welcome home, nephew.
  2. Kelvin's mother: Stay away from him.
  3. Kelvin's uncle: Still protective after all these years, I see.
The uncle presents the watching werewolves as Kelvin's family. Kelvin refuses, and some of the wolves growl.
  1. Kelvin's mother: You have no right to call yourself family.
  2. Kelvin's uncle: Look around you. These people are your family.
  3. Kelvin: No. They aren't.
Kelvin steps forward and demands to know what happened to his father, then accuses his uncle.
  1. Kelvin: What happened to my father?
  2. Kelvin's uncle: You have your father's temper.
  3. Kelvin: Don't talk about him like you knew him.
  4. Kelvin: You killed him.
The uncle denies killing Kelvin's father too quickly. Then he says that his father wanted peace while he wanted survival.
  1. Kelvin: Did you kill him?
  2. Kelvin's uncle: No.
  3. Kelvin's uncle: Your father wanted peace.
  4. Kelvin's uncle: I wanted survival.
The uncle points the question to the elder by the altar. The elder knows but won't speak, and Kelvin shouts.
  1. Kelvin: You know?
  2. The elder: I know what happened.
  3. Kelvin: Tell me!
Kelvin's crescent mark glows. The elder names it and murmurs fill the chamber; the uncle says the mark chose him.
  1. The elder: Moonfang.
  2. Narration: Within seconds, the entire chamber was filled with murmurs.
  3. Kelvin's uncle: So it is true. The mark chose you.
A horn sounds and Kelvin jumps. The uncle calls it his coronation, and Kelvin refuses to become Alpha.
  1. Kelvin's uncle: Your coronation.
  2. Kelvin: I'm not becoming Alpha.
  3. Kelvin's uncle: The Alpha is the strongest wolf in the bloodline.
Adrian steps out of the wolves to challenge Kelvin and claims the throne, but says "Not yet."
  1. Adrian: I will.
  2. Kelvin's uncle: Meet Adrian.
  3. Adrian: While you were living as a human, I was training.
  4. Adrian: The throne. Not yet.
The mother explains that the Moonstone must accept Kelvin. The uncle warns that the Bloodmoon Pack already knows the heir is alive.
  1. Kelvin's mother: If the stone accepts you, your wolf will fully awaken.
  2. Kelvin: If it doesn't accept me, I can go home.
  3. Kelvin's uncle: Do you really think the Bloodmoon Pack will allow that?
  4. Kelvin's uncle: They know the Moonfang heir is alive.
At the second horn everyone kneels except Kelvin. The elder tells them to let him stand.
  1. Kelvin: I said no.
  2. The elder: Let him stand.
  3. Narration: For reasons he couldn't explain... it seemed to be calling him.
At midnight Ha-eun, beside Kelvin's mother, tells him the stone tests the heart. Then Kelvin touches the glowing Moonstone.
  1. Caption: The ceremony began at midnight.
  2. Ha-eun: The Moonstone doesn't just test strength. Your heart.
  3. Kelvin: That's worse.
  4. Narration: ...everything disappeared.
