A dream image inside the east temple: stone pillars buckle, roof tiles fall like blades, dust and moonlight fill the air. Ning Zhao pushes Wen Yichen out of danger as a beam descends on her.

Splintered nightmare sequence shifting between two deaths and Wen waking in his room before dawn.

Wen's austere disciple room before sunrise: plain wooden bed, incense ash, paper window glowing blue. Ning arrives exactly on schedule with tea.

The tea ritual is staged with obsessive clarity: two porcelain cups, steam, Ning's steady hands, Wen's silent scrutiny.

Establishing shot of Cloud-Censer Sect: mountain terraces, suspended bridges, celestial halls, disciples moving like pale fish through mist. A faint dark circular cloud-seal hides high above.

Disciples gather with ceremonial swords. Shen Moke patrols the court and notices Wen looking distracted.

At the scripture stairs, Wen deliberately drops a brush. Ning reacts before the danger becomes visible.

Under the scripture hall eaves, rainless mist drifts. Ning gives a harmless explanation; Wen hides that he is counting her timing.

Sect Master Lu Qingsong presides over preparations. The ceremonial platform is arranged with jade lamps and a bronze star altar.

The ceremony speech fades as Wen fixates on Ning's unchanged smile and sees death layered over her living face.

After moonrise, Wen returns to his room through a quiet corridor. Ning waits outside with a covered tea tray.
