Patron of Unfinished Narratives
Chapter 5
1/11
Panel 2

The new contract crowns Yǔ Zhēn as patron of unfinished narratives. The moment is magnificent and cold, without relief.

Panel 3

Sū Mirror brings the final clause of the new contract. It concerns Yǔ Shēn, and this time the archive has no comforting record.

Panel 4

Yǔ Zhēn privately verifies the impossible: no soul-tax, no reincarnation debt, no childhood record outside her tragedy.

Panel 5

Yǔ Shēn arrives in the private record chamber. He understands enough from the blank pages before Yǔ Zhēn says it aloud.

Panel 6

The truth lands: Yǔ Shēn was written backward into memory as a device to wound Yǔ Zhēn. The cost is made visual through the red thread.

Panel 7

Lord Inkfall, now constrained as a minor villain, tries to turn the truth into another performance. Yǔ Zhēn denies him audience ownership.

Panel 8

Yǔ Shēn consents to deletion because the alternative keeps him as a weapon. Yǔ Zhēn cannot turn it into mercy.

Panel 9

Yǔ Zhēn signs. Yǔ Shēn's existence disappears fiber by fiber, not in a burst but in a bureaucratic erasure.

Panel 10

After deletion, no one else remembers a brother. Yǔ Zhēn retains only the shape of absence because she wrote the clause herself.

Panel 11

Yǔ Zhēn returns to her office, now half mortal brokerage and half shrine for unfinished narratives. Prayers arrive from people seeking escape from scripts.

Panel 12

Yǔ Zhēn sits alone in the office. Across the desk is an empty client chair whose shadow suggests a younger brother's posture. The voice is not a ghost with a body, only an absence asking the old commercial question.
