Synopsis
On the corpse-fields after a border war, serf Ryun discovers he can drink a dying swordsman's last breath and inherit their technique — but not without their final obsession, which he must fulfill or lose his mind. Hunted as a 'sword thief' in a kingdom where blade-work is a noble monopoly, Ryun becomes an underworld confessor: paid to carry the vendettas of the dying. As his collection of ghost-wills grows louder and contradictory, he must navigate overlapping grudges, a dying inquisitor's power play, and an Emperor's final command — until he stands crowned by circumstance as the only lawful swordsman alive, riding to hunt every commoner who dared pick up a blade. He is not free. He is the sum of every dead man's last order.
